toddlers Room

Room Capacity:  15         Age Ratio:  1:5         Age:  18 month to 2.5 years

Our toddler classrooms are designed to accommodate active, curious toddlers. In combining an excellent preschool education with bilingual instruction in French and English.

The hands - on classroom environment allow each child to manipulate, explore and discover new materials.

Children in the 2-year-old classes will be taught primarily in French, while the children in the programs for 3 and 4 year olds will be taught in English and French with an emphasis on French. This maximizes exposure to French while transitioning them to a 90/10 dual language model, to be followed in the program for the older children.

 The classrooms are set up into interest centers which include:

    • Fine motor play and manipulative - including reaction toys, puzzles, and stacking objects, shape sorters
    • Imagination and quiet play- including kitchen sets, play food, dolls, dress up
    • Literacy -library with picture books ,textured board books, touch and feel books
    • Creative arts & exploration- sand and water experiences, tactile play materials, art materials, musical instruments
    • Snack- Children gather together for snack, stories, and conversation. Opportunities for lessons in math, science, or other subjects are incorporated into snack time.
    • Circle Time- Children gather to sing songs, read stories, and participate in group discussions and lessons.
  • Our staff child ratio of  l:5 allow each child’s unique emotional, social, physical and intellectual development to be met.

    A daily communication log is given to parents at the end of the day which includes information about eating, sleeping and diapering and any anecdotal information

    After Hours Pick Up

    A late fee charge of $1.00 per minute/per child, after 6:30pm must be paid to the staff on duty. If, by 7pm, no contact has been made by parents/caregivers, we will have to contact the emergency contact and if we still cannot reach anyone, we will then have no choice but to contact Children’s Aid Society.
